Chris Mills MILLSWORK LLC

For the past 25 years I have worked as a hardwood flooring contractor, artist illustrator, faux painter, educator, and surface restoration specialist. I have found it very rewarding to help my general contractor associates restore damaged surfaces that are common when finishing out a custom home. I found that I can save them a lot of stress and money by applying my trompe l'oeil or "fool the eye"method of fixing imperfections.

In order to support my pursuits in ART, I worked construction. I was a founding member of Island Floors, a local hardwood flooring company. I then went on to co own an run Mills Interiors doing interior design hardwood flooring and Granite and tile floors and counter-tops.  I now try to bring my Artistic sensibilities and skills to all I do.

I have spent my life pursuing art in many forms. As an adult I deeply studied three art forms; music, martial Art/movement, illustration and fine art. After studying music in college and then to art school, I became a commercial illustrator by day and a professional musician at night. After trying several martial arts then I discovered Aikido. This beautiful non-violent martial art spoke to my artistic temperament and confirmed my belief that all creative energy can be manipulated into any art form. I founded Island Aikido on Bainbridge Island in 1998 and continue to teach and train.

I truly believe in Art For Life and to Live for Art.
